Joseph Payne, Chief Executive Officer

Joseph Payne brings more than 15 years of leadership and a proven track record with high growth software companies to Eloqua. His focus at Eloqua is to drive the company's strategic direction and to oversee all operations of the company. Joe’s broad experience base in delivering software solutions for marketers gives him a unique perspective of the most pressing concerns of marketers today: visibility, measurement, effectiveness and efficiency.

Joe was most recently President and COO of iDefense, a VeriSign company where he was responsible for the operations of the company. Prior to joining iDefense, he was President and CEO of eSecurity Inc., and President and CEO of eGrail.

Joe’s role as Chief Marketing Officer at MicroStrategy Inc. exemplifies his ability to run the global marketing efforts of a fast growing company in the business analytics market. Mr. Payne also held marketing roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble, and Royal Crown Company.

Joe is also featured on BtoB magazine's Who's Who in B-to-B 2007.

Joe is a Fuqua Scholar and received his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Duke University. He is on the adjunct faculty at the Kogod School of Business at American University.


Steven Woods, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Woods cofounded Eloqua in 1999 and has held the position of Chief Technology Officer since that time. Steven brings to Eloqua years of experience in software architecture, engineering and strategy, and is responsible for defining the product strategy and  technology vision at Eloqua. Steven's insights into the application of technology to the marketing profession have been key to Eloqua's consistent record of client satisfaction and he was recently named as one of Inside CRM's Top CRM Influencers of 2007.

Steven is also a prolific writer on topics related to demand generation and the current transitions within the marketing profession.  His book, Digital Body Language explores these topics, and he is a regular writer on his blog of the same name.  Steven is also deeply involved with the Eloqua user community, with whom he regularly interacts through the discussions on his Eloqua Artisan blog.

Prior to cofounding Eloqua, Steven worked in corporate strategy at Bain & Company and engineering at Celestica. Steven holds a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen's University.


Don Clarke, Chief Financial Officer

Don Clarke joined Eloqua as Chief Financial Officer in March 2008. Don brings to Eloqua over 25 years of experience, with nearly 20 years in key executive positions in both emerging and publicly-traded technology companies.  Most recently Don was Chief Financial Officer at Cloakware, a security solutions company. Before that, Clarke was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Visual Networks, Inc, (NASDAQ:  VNWK) a provider of application and network management solutions. Prior to Visual Networks, he served as the CFO at eCommerce Industries, Inc., ReturnBuy, Inc. and Net2000 Communications, Inc.(NASDAQ:  NTKK)

Clarke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He has served as a Board member for Allied Office Supplies, has been on various committees of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Technology Council of Maryland and is a member of the Potomac Officers Club.


Brian Kardon, Chief Marketing Officer

Brian Kardon

As Chief Marketing Officer, Brian Kardon is responsible for all marketing efforts for Eloqua, including brand development, corporate communications, product marketing, and execution of online and offline marketing programs for lead generation, demand creation and brand awareness. Brian brings more than 20 years of experience in successfully implementing global marketing strategies for billion-dollar enterprises. A recognized expert in Web 2.0, social media and digital marketing strategies, Brian has helped to position numerous brands as leaders in their industries. Before joining Eloqua, Brian was CMO at Forrester Research, where he helped to more than double the business in less than five years, and significantly improved Forrester’s profitability. 

Previously, he was president of First Act Inc., a leading marketer of musical instruments, and senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Reed Business Information, the world's largest business publisher. During his five-year tenure at Reed, Brian was instrumental in doubling the company's annual revenues to more than $1 billion through a combination of acquisitions, alliances, and new product development. Brian also spent six years at Braxton Associates, the strategy consulting division of Deloitte Consulting, where he was director of the marketing strategy practice and worked with clients like Coca-Cola, Merck, Nabisco, and Sears.

Brian holds an M.B.A., with a concentration in marketing and finance, and a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Alex Shootman, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Alex Shootman joined Eloqua in July of 2009. Formerly Shootman served as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Services at content management vendor Vignette.

Prior to Vignette, Shootman served as executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at TeleTech and was responsible for all revenue generating and market facing activities at the global business process outsourcing (BPO) company. Prior to TeleTech, he held the position of vice president of Sales and Services for the Americas region at BMC. At BMC, he was responsible for sales, pre-sales, professional services and customer support. Shootman began his career with IBM Corporation.

Shootman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.


Robert Brewster, Senior Vice President, Business Development

Robert Brewster

Robert Brewster joined Eloqua in May 2008 and is responsible for driving the growth of Eloqua's partner business, managing relationships with Eloqua's Marketing Service Partners (MSPs), implementation partners and strategic partners (including Oracle, Salesforce.com, Microsoft). With close to 20 years of experience in sales and business development, Rob was most recently VP of Alliances at salesforce.com where he was instrumental in driving the growth of their channel business and partnerships. Prior to SFDC, he spent 5 years at Epiphany in various channel roles including 2 years as VP of Global Alliances. Rob also had stints at Siebel, BEA, Intellicorp, and Data Broadcasting.


Andre Yee, Senior Vice President, Product Development

Andre Yee is the Senior Vice President, Product Development, responsible for all product related strategy and operations.  He brings years of experience in leading and managing technology organizations.  Andre was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer for NFR Security, a leading security company which he guided to a successful turnaround and exit to Check Point Software.  Prior to NFR Security, he was the Vice President, R&D for SAGA Software.  He is a noted author and conference speaker on topics related to distributed enterprise architectures, middleware and security.  He is also listed as an inventor on two patents.  He was recognized as one of InfoWorld’s “Innovators to Watch for 2006”.  Andre’s experience includes playing key senior management roles in three private companies that have successfully achieved IPOs. 


Paul Teshima, Senior Vice President, Customer Strategy and Success

Mr. Teshima joined Eloqua in September 2000 to manage client services, and since that time has moved into the position of Senior Vice President, Customer Strategy and Success. Paul brings substantial operational and management experience to the Eloqua team, and has used this experience in building Eloqua's consulting, training and customer support organization. As head of the Customer Strategy and Success organization, Paul is responsible for ensuring that the Eloqua solution is delivering results in each client organization, and in doing so, Paul has played a major role in ensuring Eloqua's consistently high levels of client satisfaction. Prior to joining Eloqua, Paul was with the Rogers@Home division of Rogers Communications. Paul holds a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

 


Mary Ann Dunlop, Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Mary Ann Dunlop, Senior VP of Human Resources, joined Eloqua in 2007. She is an accomplished Human Resource professional with experience in global compensation and employee issues. She is strategically focused on the business objectives, able to integrate a variety of Human Resource strategies and plans into the overall business plan to support the company performance and growth objectives.   Mary Ann has spent 7 years in the high tech industry where she held leadership roles in human resources and was part of the general management teams.  Mary Ann has also held both human resource and operational leadership roles in the retail industry.

In this role at Eloqua, she is responsible for the development of all HR strategies, and the delivery of HR services and programs.  Mary Ann has specialized in HR for more than 15 years.

Mary Ann holds a BA from The University of Western Ontario and a certificate in Human Resource Management.


Bijan Bedroud, Vice President of International Sales

Bijan Bedroud

Bijan Bedroud joined Eloqua in November 2008 and is responsible for driving Eloqua’s business strategy and growth within Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Bijan brings more than 20 years of experience and a proven track record of direct sales as well as developing and managing a mutually profitable global and European alliances with leading technology, service and channel organizations within the enterprise software industry. Prior to joining Eloqua, Bijan was Vice President of Sales for EMEA at Vignette Corporation, an enterprise content management software company. He has also held the positions of Vice President of International Sales at DoubleClick and Director of Global Accounts at Compaq Computers. Bijan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems from the University of London.
