A History of Innovation

Eloqua was founded in 1999 by 3 guys in a small apartment in Toronto, Canada.

Mark Organ, Steven Woods and Abe Wagner set out to change the way businesses market and sell products with software that combined web analytics, email and live chat. Their vision? "Real time, Right time selling" - an accelerated approach to marketing and selling complex products through automation and by tracking prospect behavior.

The need for measurable and visible results necessitated a radically different delivery model for software than what was available at the time. Recognizing that businesses sought cutting edge technology, but were burdened by the expensive infrastructure and IT staff it required, Eloqua became a pioneer in the "on-demand" or Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model long before it was popular.

The Leader in Demand Generation

What emerged is Eloqua’s integrated Demand Generation application that ties sales and marketing together - putting the Internet at the core of every aspect of marketing. Marketing executives can now track the success of their campaigns and improve the quality and flow of leads, while sales executives can monitor the needs and interest levels of their sales prospects.

Today, with the ability to manage comprehensive multi-channel campaigns for some of the largest technology, financial and service organizations in the world, Eloqua is the undisputed leader in the market. Industry analysts and observers recognize that Eloqua’s integrated demand generation applications and marketing expertise are at the vanguard of a significant shift in how business marketing is managed, executed and measured.

Record Results

Eloqua’s focus on generating value for its clients has resulted in explosive growth for the company. In 2008 Eloqua increased its revenues to $33 million, a 58% increase over 2007 while growing its customer roster to more than 500, the largest in the industry. Eloqua has the distinction of being both the largest and fastest growing marketing automation company. More than 70 new customers selected Eloqua in the fourth quarter of 2008, including Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, The McGraw-Hill Companies, RSM McGladrey, and TD Banknorth Garden and the Boston Bruins.
